SAEKO studied calligraphy at university in Japan. Around 2013 she began working as Mirai Shoka, layering the brush with technology.

Her works included animations of how kanji came to be — postcards that came alive through AR — and live calligraphy performances.

In 2026 she returns as an artist of MIRAI SHOKO, preparing a new series of calligraphy drawn with a pen plotter.
